36 Scientists Operating in Mining and Metallurgy, Ranked in The World’s Top 2% Scientists

Researchers from Stanford University, Dr John PA Ioannidis, K. W. Boyack ve J. Baas, published an article titled “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators” listing the best researchers in world. This year, numerous scientists from Turkey, found a place for themselves in the rankings.

The database created by the research team led by Dr. John PA Ioannidis created a database that includes the best scientist in the world’s top 2%, using standard citation indicators. the standard citation indicators used, were prepared taking into account citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. The database categorized scientists in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields.

Within the scope of the database created, two different rankings were created using career-long citation impact and 2019 citation impact. In the ranking prepared according to career-long citation impact, 26 scientists from Turkey, in the field of Mining and Metallurgy, were among the 159,684 scientists within the top 2%, while according to 2019 citation impact, 33 scientists found a place for themselves among the 161,444 scientists within the top 2%.
