Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that he evaluated potential collaborations in the fields of energy and mining with Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev and Kazakhstan’s Industry and Construction Minister Kanat Sharlapayev in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

In a post on his social media account on X, Bayraktar mentioned his engagements in Astana on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

In two separate posts, Minister Bayraktar stated:

“We held a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister, Mr. Almassadam Satkaliyev, in Astana during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. We discussed cooperation opportunities in the energy sector, particularly in hydrocarbons. We also emphasized the mutual benefits of developing interconnection lines on a regional and global scale.

We met with Kazakhstan’s Industry and Construction Minister, Mr. Kanat Sharlapayev, who is responsible for mining in Astana. We evaluated potential collaborations in the mining sector, focusing on critical minerals and rare earth elements, with both public and private sector companies in Kazakhstan and Turkey.”

This meeting signifies a step forward in strengthening the bilateral relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan, particularly in the strategic sectors of energy and mining.
