Legislation on Working Procedures and Principles and Missions of Turkey Geoscience Data and Core Data Bank (TÜVEK) that was established within the body of MTA General Directorate with the purpose of using resources more efficiently and make access to information more easy in mine exploration and production, have been entered into force by publishing in Official Gazette dated 21 July 2017. The bank will archive data and samples obtained in mining exploration, research and production. With the presentation of them into use, access to required information will be easier. While aiming to avoid repetition of drillings in the same area, it is aimed to use public resources more effective, productive and economic. According to Legislation, all geologic data and documents below that were obtained in mining exploration and research activities that were performed in Turkey by public and private sector shall be submitted to TÜVEK;
- At the end of exploration period, in operation stage at latest.
- Together with desertion petition when desertions demand is done mining license.
- In case of ending license for some reasons, within two months by date of notification,
- During operating activity which are being performed in raw material production allowance fields and/or in case of sampling and/or drilling with the purpose of exploration in license fields, together with annual activity report.
Samples, data and documents, submitted to TÜVEK with the purpose of archiving, up to end of fifth year of period of license of related field, will not be made disclosure for examination of third parties. In case of license law ends for some reasons, without a time limitations, this data will be ready for examination of third parties. Third parties will be able to access data in return of payment.
In case of sending samples to abroad with the purpose of analysis by exploring institutions, samples will be declared to TÜVEK. If it is determined that geologic data obtained from mining exploration, research and production operations that were carried by public and private sector, and samples that are considered worth to save, are not delivered to TÜVEK, it will be demanded to deliver them within two months. In case of it was realized, punitive articles taking place in Mining Law, 10th article and fourth paragraph will be implemented. All geologic data and document that were produced before publishing date of Legislation, will be delivered to TÜVEK by MİGEM. TÜVEK will demand samples that are considered worth to save, from public institution or private companies. Data and samples that were obtained as a result of mining exploration works by publishing date of Legislation, will be saved by public institution and private sector and will be delivered to TÜVEK after 01.01.2018.
